PURPOSE: Participate as part of a team providing road cleaning maintenance for one of our local municipalities in the Metro Richmond area. DESCRIPTION: Full-time position working on mobile crew and production assignments in Employment Services (AES). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Daily traveling (with company provided transportation) with Team Leader and team members to assigned locations to pick up litter along highway. Completes assigned tasks following staff directions related to a specific job. Works as a member of a team with co-workers. Learns and follows positive work ethics. Participates in training sessions as required. Follows timelines for breaks and lunch periods. Takes responsibility for personal items. Performs other duties as assigned. JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Required Abilities: Ability to interact with staff and others while working in the facility and off-site, with minimal supports. Ability to walk, stand and/or sit for long durations (average 8 miles walking per day). Ability to work in different weather conditions (rain, snow, hot, cold, etc.). Ability to stay on task. Ability to take direction and follow the instruction given by Team Leader(s). Ability to understand and follow basic safety principles in the workplace and traffic environment. Comfortable working in vehicle traffic areas around the County. Additional Preferred (not required) Abilities: Medium to high level of dexterity ability. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Some writing ability to complete minimum standard of paperwork related to a job. Ability to use hand equipment, (i.e., hand-held tools, trash picker, rake). EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School graduate or GED preferred, but not required. Janitorial experience preferred. EO/AA Veterans/Disabled and other protected categories Drug-Free Workplace
