Ensure the ambulances are safe to operate, sanitary, and properly functioning. Provide a full range of Paramedic services within the MTF and supported geographical area. Assists in lifting carrying and moving patients to and from the ambulance and within the MTF. Responsible for creating, maintaining, and disposing of medical documentation as required. Performs a full range of emergency room support and ambulance services on site at the MTF and in the field. Practice within the guidelines set by the Flight CC, Nurse Manager, EMS Director and the EMS Medical Director. Provides emergency hospital and pre-hospital care for all types of patients (all ages) in accordance with AF EMS Protocols and USAF 4N071 CFEPT. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for patients of all ages. Workload includes the evaluation and treatment of emergent, urgent, and non-emergent patients ranging from infants to elderly. Assisted by medical technicians, the candidate will be fully integrated into the nursing team, responsible for direct patient care. Recognizes medical emergencies and responds appropriately. Initiates CPR if required. Provide and or assist in administering advanced cardiac life support measures when necessary. Maintain proficiency in the operation of the ambulance radio equipment. Monitor and operate ambulance radio equipment as required by the circumstances. Provide the patient with the necessary and appropriate medical care in accordance with the AF EMS Protocols or on line medical directions, consistent with ambulance equipment and supplies, and personnel certification, training, and experience during transport. Control and properly dispose of all medical waste incurred during transport. Participates in in-services and continuing education programs. Must comply with licensing requirements of the State and local motor vehicle laws. During unit orientation ED Vehicle training will validate and certify HCW for ambulance driving and flight line driving. Document all patient encounters and treatment provided to the patient. Rapidly stabilize the patient, according to Advance Life Support (ALS) protocol and USAF EMS Protocols. Paramedic - Emergency Room Job Qualifications: 1 year in the last 3 years experience BLS Providers by AHA or ARC ACLS by AHA or ARC PALS by AHA or ARC PHTLS - encouraged Paramedic License: Florida Obtain/maintain flight line vehicle operator during orientation Computer competency Graduate from an accredited NREMT program Ability to obtain facility security NRP from NREMT - preferred Come join our team of healthcare professionals!
