Assistant Professor of Dine Studies Faculty Tsaile Campus Duty Schedule: Incumbent employee will perform instructional duties in Diné Language and cultural studies; serve on standing committees; conduct research activities in areas of interest to the School's curriculum content; teach face-to-face courses as well as online deliverables; and participate in faculty sponsorship functions including Faculty Association activities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1.Incumbent employee is expected to adhere to the institution's high standards supporting its integrity in compliance with accreditation requirements.2.Employee is expected to observe and comply with the College's Personnel policy and procedures Manual and as approved by the College Board of Regents.3.Employee will adhere to the employee contractual obligations as specified within the School of Diné Studies and Education academic expectations in carrying out detailed and/or assignments. Instructional tasks are to be delivered in a timely fashion and in accordance with course syllabi provided to students.4.Employee is expected to fulfill instructional content including Academic Program Review reporting components on a semester basis calumniating into an academic program assessment reporting.5.Student advisement is a key faculty role and responsibility while consulting with Advisors and peer counseling regarding academic and career advisement. The activity and essential duty is associated with having scheduled office hours with students.6.Employee will conduct 30 credit hours instructional workload during the term of the Contract and/or academic year. QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience Minimum: A minimum of a Master's degree in the teaching discipline(s) is required. Preferred: A doctorate in the field of language and cultural studies is preferred. Other field of studies related to language, social diversity, and multiple discipline will support competency in teaching the subject matter. Knowledge: Employee will possess knowledge of the Diné language and cultural studies tracks including curriculum development and deliverables and student teaching environment. Academic Program Review knowledge is a key factor in the student teaching and learning domain and that employee must meet the requirement each semester. Skills: The employee will possess academic skills in working with colleagues in colleaguality, bilingual and multiple teaching and learning environment; promote team work and collaborative undertaking; and interacts with external entities in promoting Diné College mission and purposes. Abilities: Employee will have the competence make-up to perform at the higher education learning and to carry out at the four-year College level. These abilities and competencies are required ant the incumbent employee manages and controls the teaching and learning environment. As discipline content abilities is evident and implanted accordingly. Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Travel: Reasonable accommodations are made in a normal work environment so that no unusual work expectations are not present .Travel expectations are normal and require no unusual extended expectations. Other Requirement(s): Employee must possess a valid Driver's license to perform official travel; possess licensure to teach Program courses and/or subject matter; and other licensures required of the position including a background check.
