Come Join Our Growing Team! We are looking for a Director, Business Development for Radiolabeled Sciences (RLS) to join our team in the US . This role is accountable and responsible for generating sales (orders) for Radiolabeled Sciences (RLS) in the Mid-Atlantic Region. The primary objective will be to find and develop new clients/business opportunities and to close the orders that will deliver and sustain Pharmaron's growth targets for this region. This position will also contribute to the overall commercial strategies for RLS business focused on the USA and be an integral member of the broader Pharmaron US business development team. Responsibilities: Research and identify new biotechnology/pharmaceutical clients developing therapeutics, to qualify and validate these prospects and establish new contacts within these companies relevant to the 14C/3H radiolabeled services portfolio Establish and maintain client relationships of the highest quality, to strengthen existing relationships to maximize cross-selling business opportunities Work closely with internal and external scientific operations teams in addition to colleagues in business development to develop effective partnerships and strategies to maximize business opportunities from every single client Manage (together with support from internal scientific operations) new business opportunities from the point of inquiry, proposal development, negotiation through to winning the order(s) Meet quarterly and annual sales targets (which are commissionable) Maintain SalesForce database with specific up-to-date information on sales leads (inquiries), prospects and opportunities, CDAs/MSAs, quotations, task orders to facilitate management to generate reports for accurate forecasting Issue monthly reports on-time for your region (due end calendar month) Attend client meetings and conferences as required (we make intensive use of the hybrid model of F2F and virtual TC platforms such as Zoom and Teams) Assist VP with special projects as required Gather and report all relevant market intelligence data Input and positively influence the business strategy for RLS US through close working with the VP If the business is not meeting its strategic objectives for your region, to collectively work with the BD team, scientific operations and management to agree on action plans to address the problem. Where the solution to these problems do not fall within BD, to work with the management team to assist and contribute to developing solutions Cultivate, manage and maintain professional relationships with key internal stakeholders in scientific operations and foster close working relationships between Business Development and Operations on an ongoing basis Comprehensively learn the RLS business and scientific aspects of Pharmaron's radiosynthesis and metabolism services, critically understand both preclinical and clinical development, Pharmaron China services (DP&C) and the inter-relation and cross-selling aspects of all the different Pharmaron business units. Develop effective and collaborative relationships with Business Development colleagues alongside RLS - DP&C (Discovery, Preclinical & Chemistry), CPC (Clinical Pharmacology Center) & ABS (Advanced Bioanalytical Sciences) Occasional travel to Pharmaron UK for annual meetings/training (travel restrictions notwithstanding) Support the UK Executive Director, Business Development, RLS for special projects as and when required The role requires meticulous attention to detail and for all work to be conducted strictly in accordance with company Policies and Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures Respect the confidentiality of information obtained in the course of duties performed and refrain from disclosing such information without written consent from Management, except where disclosure is required by law or by the order of a Court Qualification: BSc in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, life sciences or similar MBA or PhD preferred, not required At least 5 years of CRO industry Business Development Pharma development and outsourcing experience Organized with strong hunter/finder abilities Comfortable in matrixed teams and building through consensus In depth knowledge of the CRO and Pharmaceutical market and environment Broad understanding of the science related to the role Broad IT competence - MS Office (esp. Excel) and SalesForce Can identify new business opportunities and business growth Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills - team player Excellent internal/external negotiation skills Excellent organization skills, focused on execution, with strong attention to detail Presentation skills understanding message communication for specific audiences Basic financial and reporting of sales numbers Stakeholder and relationship management Articulate verbal and written communication skills - ability to listen
