Tang & Biscuit is the 1st floor Shuffleboard venue in RVA and the 1st in a social evolution of entertainment venues created to encourage the enjoyment of community, fun & interaction. If you haven't played shuffleboard, you should, and we know you will love it! Overview The Expo role is the person behind the pace, cohesion and the final quality control for the kitchen to guarantee efficiency and accuracy. Our Expos will ensure all items leaving the kitchen are up to the outstanding standards of Tang & Biscuit and can be delivered in a speedy, consistent fashion to our excited, welcomed guests. Key Responsibilities Prepare menu items consistently and quickly Ensure items on checks are being sent out together and on time Keeps kitchen clean along with all other team members Monitors portion control and quality of presentation Communicates very well with all team members, front of house, kitchen, management and bar. Ensures each order is prepared properly and in line with standards and service expectations. Follows and assists in ensuring all sanitation and safety standards are followed. Assists in the final preparation of dishes and entire preparation of some simple menu items. Sets pace and prioritization for kitchen through polite but assertive communication and organization. Ability to communicate clearly and take direction well. Other duties as assigned Key Qualifications High school diploma preferred. Minimum 1-year experience in food service expo role preferred. Ability to work on a fast-paced team and remain positive and polite. Ability to lead productivity. Must be at least 18 years of age. Great communication skills. Outstanding coordination and multitasking skills Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time We are a forward-thinking company that delivers speedy and quality service, while upholding a strong community spirit!
