Helen Newberry Joy Hospital & Healthcare Center is a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital located in the heart of the Eastern Upper Peninsula. In addition to the hospital, the facility has 4 rural health clinics and an attached 39 bed Long Term Care facility. Helen Newberry Joy invites applications for the full-time position of Director of Nursing for our Med/Surg & ED departments. Sign On/Relocation Bonus Available! Essential Functions: Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of patient nursing care in the hospital. Provides directions for development and evaluation of all nursing personnel. Maintains operational aspects of patient care. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have an interest and commitment to healthcare for underserved groups . Must have working knowledge and ability to use word processing and spreadsheet and data base software. Must have working knowledge and be able to use office machines and have working knowledge of typical office operations. Must be able to write reports, proposals, budgets and related correspondence in a clear and concise manner. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Must have strong data analytical skills. Must be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisory personnel, coworkers and the general public. Must have excellent organization skills; organizing work, prioritizing tasks and managing time. Must be able to prepare and present information to a variety of audiences. Must be able to work with minimal to no supervision. Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards and regulations required. Must be able to work flexible schedule. Position Requirements: State of Michigan RN licensure. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or graduate of an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor's degree in management or health administration. Masters in Nursing, public health or health administration, or a closely related field preferred. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
