Location: Huntsville, AL Status: Full Time Exempt Position Description: The DevSecOps Engineer works as a team member on the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) DevSecOps infrastructure team. This role will support one or more project offices with MDA: Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Next Generation Interceptor (NGI), Ground Weapons System (GWS), or Systems Integration, Test & Readiness (SITR). This position will provide engineering analysis and assessment to support future mission command DevSecOps efforts. The chosen candidate must be highly organized with a strong set of technical skills. The position requires the candidate to have a working knowledge of Agile Methodology. The DevSecOps team focuses on automated tests through the entire CI/CD pipeline and development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will work to bring modern software development techniques to our DOD customers. The DevSecOps team is focused on moving MDA GMD environments to the cloud for better integration with the prime contractors. Basic Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, science, or related field. Certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE and AZ900 Azure Fundamentals. All potential candidates must be a US Citizen and a resident of the Huntsville, AL area or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area. Understanding, interest in, or experience with DevSecOps, agile, and lean philosophies. Understanding or experience in software test suites, CI/CD pipelines, automated software builds and tests. Understanding cloud, virtualization, APIs, and modern software languages. Strong work ethic with critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills Candidate needs to be comfortable taking initiative and being a team player in a small team environment. Ability to professionally and comfortably interact with contractors, government civilians, system operators, and other stakeholders. Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals. Other Qualifications: Experience in at least one of the following areas is desired: DevSecOps Network Engineering Software Engineering Experience in support of DoD programs is preferred, especially in an MDA program. Experience with the Agile methodology, SAFe© Agile experience a plus. Ability to contribute technical expertise throughout the software lifecycle including design, integration, test, and delivery to operations. Experience working with SDLC tools (GitLab, JIRA, Jenkins). Experience working with both development staff and end users. Software development experience in one or more of the following general purpose programming languages: Java Python Go Ruby C++ Specific skills: Linux/Windows system administration, SEIM technologies and techniques, DevOps practices, scripting language (bash, perl, python, etc.) experience and capability. Experience working with containers (Kubernetes, Docker) Experience working with automation tools (Ansible, Vagrant, Puppet, Terraform). Understanding of Software Test Automation concepts. Experience with Modeling and Simulation tools, processes, and best practices. Security Requirements: This role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance. *Please note all applications remain active for up to 6 months.
