UG/Line Equipment Operator

Description:
The UG Operator is responsible for all duties associated with and related to the safe, efficient and cost- effective operation of all UG Power Equipment including but not limited to Line Truck, Squirt Boom, Bucket Truck, Excavator and or backhoe experience preferred. Essential Duties : Must be proficient in operating excavator and or backhoe. Must be proficient in setting up and operating line truck, bucket truck, or back yard machines. Working knowledge of line work preferred. Perform general site preparation, restoration and right of way maintenance duties Develop proficiency in safe operation of all equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment Run power tools Perform hand digging Transport Equipment to and From Jobsites Load and Unload Equipment Maintain material inventory on truck Active leadership skills as lead position while crew foreman is offsite. Working knowledge of underground utilities. Working knowledge of 811 Requirements and Procedures REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Education : Preferred : High school diploma Experience : Preferred : Knowledge of Utilities installation techniques and standards, has limited experience. Required: Must have valid Class A CDL License. Physical Demands : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
