SUMMARY OF DUTIES The Accounts Payable Clerk is primarily responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all accounts payable transactions, distribution of checks, and control of all check supplies. Is responsible for the timely and accurate allocation of all costs, including payroll, rents and utilities. EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS High school, plus additional courses or specialized training at business or community college, or other formal training facility or program. Requires ability to understand and carry out assigned duties effectively. Knowledge needed such as stenography, office routines, elementary accounting procedures; operation of equipment such as bookkeeping and billing machines, tabulating equipment, transcription machines. EXPERIENCE Over four years, up to and including six years. Other (Specify): At least two years' supervisory experience
