Department: Used Parts Location: Des Moines, IA FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Schedule : Flexible Schedule PRIMARY PURPOSE: This position is primarily responsible for building and restoring custom wood pallets for the Used Parts Department. FOCUS : Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Help build/repair pallets for shipping and storing purposes for Used Parts. Cut wood into proper lengths, build pallets based on required specifications. Tear down and repair pallets using various tools such as nail gun, circular saw, crowbar, etc. Use shop provided tools as per intended use. Should a tool be lost or broken, report this to management immediately Clean work area when jobs are complete. Follow general safety rules for each job and abide by Housby's safety rules and policies. Must supply tools to make job as efficient as possible SKILLS & EXPERIENCE : Possess a strong attention to detail. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Must have general computer skills. Capable of operating a forklift safely. Ability to be a team player in a fast-paced work environment. Must have and follow Housby's Core Values. EDUCATION : High School Diploma or GED required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Safety glasses and safety shoes are required at all times. Ability to view a computer monitor. Alpha/numeric keyboarding. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, walking, and reaching for long periods of time. WORK ENVIRONMENT : The work environment for this position is varied due to the differences in our work site. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical, vibrations, fumes or airborne particles, toxic and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud. Works indoors and out. Exposed to some outside weather.
