Chemical Engineer - Rotator

Position Summary Monument Chemical is currently looking for a recent graduate to join our rotational Early Career Development Program. The program will introduce you to the chemical manufacturing business of R&D and Production Engineering. As you explore the different aspects of our business, you will receive thorough technical and soft skills training, including a balance of product development, custom manufacturing, and Plant Support exposure. Also, as hands on experience with select lab reactors and joint projects with the operations team. After two years, the expectation is that your career will move to a production environment where you will be a SME on product technologies. Essential Functions / Key Accountabilities · Develop understanding of site chemistries and processes -SME on product technology. · Use basic chemical understanding to troubleshooting plant concerns. · Act as a liaison between R&D and operations for Product Development and Scale up process (including MOC accountabilities and tech transfer packages). · Support other process/product engineers in production environment as SME. · Review Regulatory and HSE to appropriate personnel when new materials are used in operations. · Complete 2 process/product projects during rotation. · Completely follow of 2 products/custom manufacturing through scoping, development, scale up and production - identify operations roles and accountabilities. · Review and modify existing campaign run packages to meet customer and plant requirements. · Engage Quality Assurance personnel to ensure that all product specifications are understood and will be met. · Effectively utilize in-house technical resources (Engineering, R&D, Operations, etc.). · Develop a detailed understanding of the various pieces of plant equipment and how operating parameters affect output. · Develop & implement chemical simulation modeling and fully utilize as part of daily production requirements. · Engage Operations staff to identify and document potential safety and process improvements. · Develop and implement training for operators and other production engineers, including a toolbox for production support. Education · B.S.in Chemical Engineering Experience / Required Skills · A minimum of one year of work experience in a production engineer role. · Ability to obtain TWIC Card. · Fluency with Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) · Demonstrated experience in detailed record-keeping for campaign management, including mass balances, equipment usage, and unplanned events. · Ability to participate in our 24/7 production facility call out policy, when needed. · Ability to work on shift for 30 days to become familiar with plant operations. · Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal, written, presentations) with a range of audiences with differing backgrounds and skill levels. · Chemical simulation/modeling experience with ChemCad is a plus. · DSC experience is a plus (Delta V). · Microsoft Project experience is a plus.
