OPPORTUNITY As CFO, you will be responsible for leading all financial decision-making affecting the company and providing strategic financial input to senior management. The role has direct responsibility for managing accounting team including the day-to-day and hands on operations of the accounting/financial function. This role reports to the CEO and is a member of the leadership team. Incumbent needs to function as a "leader within the business" having impact beyond the CFO's direct scope of responsibility. Travel necessary as required. ( KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Execute the financial strategy of the company including the day-to-day management of the accounting function and related hands-on activities. Ensure full transparency over the financial performance of the company. Manage financial controls and accounting procedures, ensuring all accounting transactions and financial reports are accurate and adhere to company guidelines. Some reports are automated, some created by finance/accounting team members, and some by the CFO themselves. Provide advice on driving revenue, reduction of cost and overall corporate strategy. Demonstrate an advanced understanding of company market, competitors and other economic indicators. Monitor, predict, and drive cash and cash flow of the organization. This is highly critical at various times of our seasonal business. Participate in all decision-making requiring large capital investment including annual health insurance, workers compensation renewal and equipment purchases. Monitor and control the financial and tax activities of US operations. This entails month end and year end close as well as the preparation of financial statements. The division of powers to produce these extends to all accounting team, including the CFO. Oversee Treasury management and banking relationships. Assists CPA firm with the preparation of corporate income tax returns, personal property and sales tax returns and other miscellaneous filings. Lead a staff and drive the performance management, mentoring, training, coaching and development activities necessary to achieve a high-performing team. Design and manage the annual budget process. Active leader in the culture of the organization (not only the finance team), setting a positive example for the entire organization. This includes (but is not limited to) leadership activities of expressing gratitude, acting according to company values, reinforcing company behaviors, and an active participant in company townhalls. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Master's Degree or MBA preferred 10+ years of experience in accounting and/or finance with increasing levels of responsibility, preferably in a manufacturing organization 5+ years of supervisory experience 3+ years in public accounting and financial analysis within a medium to large size corporation desired CPA designation preferred EXPERIENCE Demonstrated experience in accounting, internal controls, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, cost accounting, cash mgmt., working capital allocation, valuation of inventory and demand planning/inventory Proven ability to anticipate future trends, threats and opportunities affecting company financial results and implement effective solutions Demonstrated ability to build and manage long-term, company-wide strategic financial plans Ability to make sound, data-driven decisions Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Powerpoint SKILLS High level of attention to detail and organizational skills Can think and act strategically as well as tactically to analyze, plan and execute financial strategies Has strong critical thinking and inquiry skills; demonstrates the ability to ask the right questions Prioritizes work and key projects; delegates effectively to team members Possesses strong executive presence with internal and external audiences Ability to educate staff and team members regarding financial management and reporting Displays excellent communication skills (written, oral, listening, presentation) Works collaboratively with other team members and executive leaders Serves as a leader and role model for employees at all levels, demonstrating the values of the organization, especially in dealing with the workforce BENEFITS We offer a comprehensive compensation & benefits package
