We are currently looking for a FT Directional Drill Locator. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Operate Directional Drill Locator equipment in accordance with company and industry standards. Responsible for assisting Drill Operator in locating drill head and drilling in accordance with blueprints. Verify locate marks and confirm location of existing facilities. Assist with clean-up and other duties as assigned. The Locater is responsible for maintaining equipment per manufacturer's specifications and safety guidelines. Must have proven track record locating for a Horizontal Direction Drill (HDD) Utility avoidance Locator functionality Proper Maintenance Safety Procedures Maintains company equipment per service requirements and safety guidelines. Communicate work progress and safety performance to the site supervision. Install conduit, vaults, and cable work when not locating. Maintain all equipment in good and safe working condition and report any deficiencies. Responsible for checking and maintaining equipment and tools. Responsible for trimming trees and clearing brush at job sites. Perform Safe Confined Space Entry and Assist with confined space entry on job sites per OSHA requirements. Complete Traffic Control Training and assist with traffic control services in work zones when necessary. Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Communicates effectively with other team members and supervisory personnel. Moderate travel required. Required to be On-Call as assigned. Required to work weekends and nights if necessary. Other duties may include assisting the construction department from time to time with other aspects of utility construction including aerial work. Education and Experience: Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent. 2 years' experience locating for a directional drill. Previous experience as Directional Drill Rig Operator is an asset. Must possess and maintain a clean driver's abstract and valid full-driver's license appropriate to the requirements of the vehicle being driven - CDL-A Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to related construction processes. Strong knowledge of construction documents. Must be able to track and communicate daily production and materials. Ability to work with little supervision, while adding to a safe and positive team environment is a must. Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. This position may require 8 to 10-hour days, flexible hours, and some weekends.
