CAPS Collaborative is seeking applicants for the position of Speech Language Pathologist in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program . The CCC-SLP provides consultation and/or direct therapy services, completes initial and tri-annual evaluations, develops and oversees implementation of IEP goals and objectives and utilizes effective curriculum materials and behavior management strategies for a manageable caseload. We will work in partnership with districts to ensure that students transition to the least restrictive environment in their home school district. About the role: Provide quality speech and language services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, including assessment, intervention, program planning and implementation, discharge planning, and communication. Service provision includes both direct and consultative approaches. Whether a student uses American Sign Language (ASL), listening and spoken language or a combination of spoken language and signs, the SLP will develop communication competence in the students' preferred modality. Responsibilities: Evaluation and screenings using both informal and standardized testing in Speech and Language. Generate IEP goals to reflect needs determined through evaluation. Attend scheduled meetings. Provide direct services as indicated on IEP. Provide indirect consultative services with teachers and parents as indicated on IEP. Provide in-service workshops and professional development as requested. Travel between schools and programs as deemed necessary. Monthly Medicaid submittal on eligible students. Maintain professional boundaries and ensure student/staff confidentiality as appropriate within the educational team. Contribute to professional growth and collaboration by staying informed on current literature/resources in the field and actively participating in staff meetings and professional development opportunities. Candidate requirements: Master's Degree with certification of Clinical Competence from ASHA or CCC-CFY Educator licensure in Speech/Language Massachusetts Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) Experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students Physical Requirements: Able to navigate all areas of the school quickly including indoor and outdoor areas. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
