SUMMARY: Pick up and deliver messages, documents, packages, and other items between offices or departments within the company or directly to other business concerns, traveling by foot or automobile. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Drive vehicle in order to reach destinations to deliver messages or materials. Unload and sort items collected along delivery routes. Receive messages or materials to be delivered, and information on recipients, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, and delivery instructions, communicated via telephone, cell phone, or in person. Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivering items. Deliver messages and materials, such as mail, boxes (all sizes), office supplies and etc., between departments, other establishments and private homes. Make deposits to financial institutions and obtain signatures and receipts. Perform routine maintenance on delivery vehicle(s) such as monitoring fluid levels and replenishing fuel. Backing up Office Services team as available with mail, additional pickups and deliveries, special projects. Miscellaneous task may be assigned by supervisor. EDUCATION AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year of work experience High school / GED education is required. A valid Texas Driver's License is required with an acceptable driving record. SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be attentive to detail, dependable and able to maintain confidentiality. Requires excellent time management skills. Requires a good sense of direction and deductive reasoning skills to adapt the route(s) if necessary. Requires ability to follow procedures. Requires good interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external staff at all levels. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, to permit the employee to function in a general office environment and accomplish tasks and duties at outlined above. Position entails contact with people. A sense of urgency normally pervades the work environment of a corporate courier. Position involves working indoors, and outdoors during normal and adverse weather conditions. Position requires frequent standing, walking, stooping, and bending along with sitting and occasional climbing. Must be able to push, pull, lift or carry items, materials or equipment weighing up to 50+ pounds. Requires good use of hands to grasp, handle and reach, with fine finger manipulation, sensitivity and touch. Must be able to climb in/out of vehicle. Must be able to reach in all directions. Requires average hearing. Requires sense of smell and accurate near and far vision. Position requires employee to comply with uniform dress code policy. Requires neat appearance.
