Equipment Operator - Aggregates

Description:
FUNCTION: Heavy equipment operators operate various types of equipment such as graders, track hoes, backhoes, loaders, skid steers, etc., while adhering to Sunroc's operational and safety standards. KEY ACTIVITIES: Operate heavy equipment (grader, track hoe, backhoe, loader, skid steer, haul trucks, etc.) productively, efficiently, and in accordance with Sunroc's operational and safety standards; Service and clean equipment as needed and in accordance with best practice operating procedures; Assist with plant maintenance and operation; Grease, oil, and perform minor equipment repairs and maintenance, using grease gun, oil cans, various hand tools, etc.; Report when oil changes, maintenance, or repair work are due/required and assist as needed; Perform routine pre and post-inspections to ensure proper performance of equipment. Maintain necessary equipment logs and inform supervisor of deficiencies in a timely fashion; Operate equipment according to specification and in alignment with designated safety standards, reporting violations to field supervision. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Strong working knowledge regarding the operation, safety, and maintenance of equipment in use; Ability to safely operate equipment in the presence of field crew members and utilities, ensuring the safety of all persons, equipment, property and utilities in the area; Valid driver's license and clean MVR; MSHA training a plus; Crusher experience a plus; CDL a plus; Effective written and verbal communication skills; Able to promote and work in an effective team environment; EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year of experience running a loader, dozer or track hoe; PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work long hours and move at least 50 lbs. on a routine basis.
