The Borough is seeking a part-time, temporary employee to operate heavy equipment to maintain the new 8-mile Kivalina Road from the village site to the new school site. Work will consist of routine and preventative summer and winter maintenance on Borough-owned equipment, which includes but not limited to plowing of snow and minimizing drift accumulation on the wayside in the winter, resurfacing and repairing cracks and dips in the summer. Qualification: Must have High School Diploma or GED. Must have experience in operation and maintenance of heavy equipment such as CAT 160 Grader and Volvo L90 Loader. Must have Alaska Driver's License. Commercial Driver's License preferred. Must be able to take orders and have ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions. Ability to work effectively under strict timelines and or/emergency situations. Willingness to respond to call-outs and work early in the morning and late as needed. Ability to lift 70 pounds.
