Equipment Operator - Street Maintenance

Description:
Operates assigned equipment for the Haltom City Public Works Department; assists with maintenance activities for area of assignment; and performs other related duties as assigned.Examples of Duties: Operates various types of heavy equipment including but not limited to backhoes, dump trucks, water trucks, loaders, rollers, street sweepers, and forklifts. Performs preventative maintenance to assigned equipment and assists in ensuring equipment is maintained in safe working condition. Repairs and replaces City streets; removes concrete and lays asphalt; backfills curbs. Installs traffic control devices and road/parking lot markings. Sweeps streets; removes debris from roadways; cleans gutters; applies herbicides. Identifies and documents street pot holes and/or trees obstructing roadways. Maintains, repairs, installs pumps, valve boxes, and manholes. Replaces meter boxes and lids. Assists in cleaning and maintaining departmental facilities as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned or required. Typical Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent, and one year equipment operation experience; OR an equivalent combination or education and experience. Depending on area of assignment, other specialized licenses or certifications may be required. Must possess a valid Class A Texas Driver's License. Job Posted by ApplicantPro
