BASIC FUNCTIONInsulates and assembles panels, doors, walls, and drain pans for installation in commercial air handling units.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED• Identifies proper parts to complete assemblies by reading specification sheet.• Assembles parts to specification.• Installs windows, hardware, and other purchased parts into assembly per specification• Insulates panels as described on specification sheet.• Labels panels with part number, COM#, and team ID.• Places panels in proper carts for delivery to the line.• Operates forktruck to move panel carts, insulation and other materials utilized in department.• Completes appropriate paperwork to include production log, panel sheet, and deviation reports.• Disassembles panels that have been damaged or assembled incorrectly.• Utilizes rivet gun, air gun, knife, hand held spot welder, and other hand tools to perform duties.• Assists others in the performance of their duties.• Responsible for reporting work related injuries and near misses to supervision.• Responsible for wearing all required PPE and following applicable safety/environmental rules.• Responsible for correcting or reporting unsafe conditions observed within the plant.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCELess than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE ABILITYAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos (i.e. safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, shop-floor paperwork, and procedure manuals). Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.MATH ABILITYAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.COMPUTER SKILLSNo computer skills required.CERTIFICATES & LICENSESForklift license required. Must be able to obtain within three (3) months.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
