The Business Risk Group Manager is a seasoned professional role within the Fiduciary Oversight Group with management responsibility for some team members. Primary responsibility of Fiduciary Oversight is managing the firm’s fiduciary and investments risks to ensure compliance with account mandates, relevant regulations, and corporate and fiduciary policies. All issues are communicated and escalated to the appropriate level of management to ensure timely resolution. Primary Responsibilities: - Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.- Identify and interpret investment guidelines from the governing legal documents, internal policies and law, in consultation with Global Investment Managers, Legal and Compliance.- Implement client guidelines in Charles River or relevant compliance engine, including the review of Account Agreements, Investment Policy Statements and Prospectuses.- Provide continuous monitoring of business and investment management activities to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and corporate and fiduciary policies, and quarterly reporting to the Fiduciary Review Committee.- Work closely with individuals reporting to you, other team members, portfolio managers, legal and compliance to ensure that all fiduciary issues are identified and resolved timely, and in accordance with governing rules, regulations and industry best practices.- Maintain and update policies and procedures to reflect the current investment guideline monitoring environment.- Work with Technology and the business, as required, to ensure that Fiduciary Oversight has the necessary tools to manage its processes.- Lead periodic meetings, including the Fiduciary Review Committee, with senior management and control function partners.- Research and analyze exceptions to identify underlying cause and report and escalate appropriately.- Exercise independence of judgement and autonomy and has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.- Manage other risk-related projects as they arise. Qualifications: - Experience with rules coding on compliance systems, e.g., Charles River, within banking/asset management.- Highly motivated, self-starter, strong attention to detail, team oriented, organized and adaptive.- Strong analytical, verbal and business writing skills.- Ability to review advisory accounts to ensure advisors are meeting regulatory and corporate guidelines as well as client’s individual investment objectives.- Strong presentation skills with the ability to lead meetings and articulate complex problems and solutions through concise and clear messaging.- Prepare material and take minutes for ongoing oversight meetings.- Ability to manage projects including updating stakeholders and keeping project focus.- Good understanding of risk and control framework, with some regulatory background, in both securities and banking environments.- Must be able to work effectively in a demanding, fast-paced, fluid environment, handling multiple tasks and projects concurrently while maintaining the highest standards and exceptional attention to detail. - Excellent problem solving skills and ability to see the big picture with high attention to critical details.- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives.- Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience in Business Risk & Controls.- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
