Automotive Service Manager

If you're a mechanically-minded car enthusiast with stellar customer service skills, this job is for you! Our dealership seeks an automotive service advisor who loves greeting customers, assessing customer needs and scheduling appointments for our capable service technicians. In this role, you'll use your product knowledge as a service advisor and draft cost estimates, evaluate warranty protections, and coordinate necessary repairs. Responsibilities: --- Lead vehicle pick-up efforts by coordinating efforts with auto service porters and customers --- Appropriately file all automotive documents such as maintenance records, invoices, repair orders, and more --- Schedule appointments for service technicians --- Verify warranty protections, review service contract coverage, create cost estimates, and all other documentation to facilitate vehicle service work --- Resolve customer complaints and make follow-up calls to facilitate a positive service center experience Qualifications: --- Must have problem-solving and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other fundamental programs --- Previous experience working as a service technician or in a service department a plus --- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are necessary --- Possess a valid, state-issued driver's license and acceptable driving record --- Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent About Company: Who is Grote Automotive? Fred Grote has been in the car business for over 25 years. He opened his 1st store in Fort Wayne, IN in 2008. Growing from 25 cars a month to 200 he opened a 2nd store in Warsaw, IN. After Great success there his 3rd store came to Rockford, IL. The 4th and 5th stores have just arrived in IN in 2022 as well. We plan to open 1 more in 2024. We opened here in Rockford in December 2020 and have been growing FAST. We specialize in solving transportation problems that most dealerships can't.
