Job Details: Salary Range: GBP 62,293 : GBP 69,863 per annum Work Location: Elizabeth II Court, Winchester Hours per week: 37Contract Type: Permanent Closing Date: 4 January 2024Interview Date:16 January 2024 The Role: We are seeking a capable, experienced and inspiring Service Manager to lead our Childcare Development service in supporting sufficient access to early years education and childcare. Hampshire County Council has an outstanding Children's Services Directorate and high ambition for its children and young people. Our Childcare Development Service has an impressive track record working with the early years and childcare sector to provide good quality childcare places for young children to access early years foundation stage and school aged children to enjoy enriching and fun activities in the holidays and before and after school. As the strategic lead for childcare sufficiency in Hampshire, you will lead an experienced team to provide support and guidance to childcare providers; undertake backssments of the market to identify gaps and put in place actions to ensure the county has a childcare market that is dynamic and able to meet demand. You will use your excellent communication, leadership and management skills to help your team to embed new ways of working, and continue to develop practices that enable greater self: service, enabling the resources of the team to be targeted on the most important priorities. Your experience in project management approaches will support you to manage conflicting pressures and priorities in a demanding environment. Strong governance and rigorous programme oversight is required. You will have a good working knowledge of commercial enterprises and charities and understand the key components of business and finance in order to guide your team to support the childcare market.
