Position Summary:The Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit – RN ICU provides direct nursing care to patients and their families in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The tasks and responsibilities include:Assesses, plans and implements care and interventions in addressing the problems of the neonateCarries out physician ordersAssists physician during examination, treatment, and proceduresAdministers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signsServes as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient careMonitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systemsInstructs and educates patients and familiesAssesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare teamProvides age and culturally appropriate careMaintains a safe and therapeutic patient care environment for at risk infantsOrients and mentors new staff membersFollows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as requiredEDUCATION• ADN required• BSN preferred Days or Nights ICU RN LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS• Current Texas State Licensure as a Registered Nurse (Compact license is accepted but TX State RN license required within 30 days of hire)• Current ACLS and BLSEXPERIENCEMust have at least 3 years of nursing experience.ICU experience of at least 2 yearsMUST have recent ACUTE care experienceSalary : 27.75 - 53.46Powered by JazzHR
