Are you confident, patient, and eager to brighten children's lives? Our Respite Care program is seeking learning coaches, sitters, and big buddies for children with autism, ADHD, and Down Syndrome. $16 to $17 starting hourly pay depending on experience (Eligible for merit-based pay increase after first 30-60 days) Sitters are matched with one or more families to care for children with special needs so that parents can enjoy some respite. Schedule: 15-20 hours (or more) per week with openings available during the weekdays and weekends- We match you to families to fit your availability! Why Work for College Nannies and Sitters? Great resume-building experience Caring, supportive boss who wants you to do your best Mileage reimbursement up to 40 miles round trip commute per respite care assignment, at 56 cents per mile Competitive pay via biweekly direct deposit and opportunities for merit based increases and bonuses Paid, ongoing professional development and management Ability to earn overtime, holiday pay, and paid sick time Required Skills/Abilities: Assist children with online school Help children practice writing, reading, and/or math Keep children safe and provide basic care Take kids on outings for hikes, walks, or to the park Use redirection and other strategies to soothe and calm when child becomes frustrated/upset Be a great role model and mentor Have safe and reliable vehicle able to commute to 92127, 92129, 92128, and 92064, plus other locations in San Diego Required Qualifications: 1+ year(s) childcare, babysitting, or nanny experience (some experience with autism a HUGE PLUS) Must have a reliable insured vehicle for travel to family homes Minimum age of 18, valid driver’s license Hold a high school diploma/GED CPR trained or willing to receive training COVID vaccinated (including booster) As we continue to monitor the progression of COVID-19, our top priority is the health and safety of our caregivers and families.
