The Residential Loan Officer evaluates, originates and recommends approval of real estate, line-of-credit and consumer loans. The loan officer advises borrowers on available loan products to meet their borrowing needs; analyze the financial status of the applicant and presents various lending product alternatives. The loan officer will develop and maintain business relationships within the community; particularly with realtors and residential home builders; cross sell other banking products. A Residential Loan Officer’s responsibilities include a variety of retail functions related to the following areas: Loan Origination; Lending; Bank Policies and Procedures; Compliance; Communication; CRA; Business Development. Cross selling other bank products. Job Specifications Certification: NMLS Registration Experience: Minimum of 2 years of work experience in residential mortgage lending. Knowledge and Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. An active listener who gives full attention and identifies the customer’s needs, asking questions as appropriate. Excellent interpersonal skills and problem solving skills. Knowledge of residential and consumer lending processes, internal loan programs and associated state, federal and other regulations. Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to determine the best lending solution to present to customers. Maintain current knowledge of compliance requirements for areas of responsibilities. Develop and maintain outside referral sources Personal Traits: The qualified candidate is a person who exhibits the following: Professional image to customers and co-workers.
