GIS Technician/ Transit Coordinator Town of Tillsonburg is looking for an experienced dedicated GIS Technician/Transit Coordinator to join our busy Engineering team. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for supporting the maintenance and dissemination of GIS data for the Town’s Engineering Department having to incorporate and disseminate many forms of data for the primary purposes of asset management. T he GIS Technician/ Transit Coordinator will also be responsible for managing and coordinating the development and implementation of policies, programs, studies and initiatives related to the operation of the transit system including the monitoring of routes and schedules, forecasting demand, marketing, planning and design of transit services, analysis and evaluation of transit related activities and undertakings. Other responsibilities of this role include developing service proposals and administering transit service contracts. This is a permanent full-time position with an excellent benefits package including immediate group benefits coverage, OMERS defined pension plan and f ree Employee Health Club Membership at the Tillsonburg Community Center. Weekly hours: 40The hourly rate : $37.33- $43.67 Interested candidates are encouraged to apply prior to the end of the business day on Monday January 29, 2024. Responsibilities Coordinate GIS deliverables for various projects and programs to deliver GIS solutions in a timely and efficient manner, working in collaboration with teams, examples being online mapping and providing departmental maps/updates. Provide GIS editing expertise related specifically to asset management feature maintenance ensuring adherence to asset management policy in the collection of geospatial data to provide consistent, reliable information for decision making.
