They will read texts in a variety of literary and non-literary genres and consider the way that writers learn their craft from other writers. Practical assignments will encourage students to find creative ways to critique, imitate, speak to, and borrow responsibly from the work they read. Section: LEC0101 Day(s) Time(s): Lectures on Mondays and Wednesdays 12:00-1:00pm; Tutorials on Mondays 1:00-2:00 and Monday 3:00-4:00, Estimated Enrolment: 80 Est of TA hours: ~300 Salary Sessional Instructional Assistant: $52.26 per hour plus 4% vacation pay Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Minimum Qualifications: Academic training in creative writing; MA or MFA in creative writing preferred. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate good prior knowledge of the subject-matter of the course and who have experience teaching creative writing and/or previous TA expereince in the area.
