We Offer: Regular Staff Appreciation events Employee Assistance Program HEPP Pension HEB Benefits including Health & Dental POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Manager of Resident Experience this position is responsible for the delivery of Adult Day Program services through programming, social support and minor support care for ADL’s. EDUCATION Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent A Certificate in Therapeutic Recreation or equivalent EXPERIENCE 2 years of experience working with older adults Past work experience in a healthcare setting would be an asset Knowledge of Jewish culture and traditions would be an asset SKILLS Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to work with participants who may have mental and physical impairments. Understanding of cognitive impairment Able to work independently with minimal supervision Knowledge of infection control practices Practices confidentiality and adheres to current privacy acts relevant to PHIA and FIPPA Computer skills PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPOSIBILITIES backss new participants prior to admission and review needs on an ongoing basis , keeping program spaces both onsite and virtual program spaces filled and maintaining program waitlist Planning and provision of onsite and virtual therapeutic recreation programs according to participant needs Coordinate access to additional services as provided.
