Position Overview Under the direction of the Facility Support Services Lead or designate or assigned Tradesperson, the Utility Person performs and/or assists with preventative maintenance installation and repair of furnishings and other equipment and building systems. Experience Recent minimum of 1 year work experience with demonstrated ability to perform mechanical tasks and basic repairs in building or equipment maintenance. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Grade 12 required (Manitoba Standards). System Maintenance Technician certificate or Building Operator certificate or Powering Engineering - 5th Class certification preferred. Qualifications and Skills Demonstrates a working knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (“WHMIS”) and adheres to procedures for handling and storing controlled substances as described in the Safety Data Sheets (“SDS”). Demonstrates a basic working knowledge of computers. Physical Requirements Physical and mental health to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
