Buyer (On-site - Manchester) Are you currently an assistant buyer or buyer looking for a new role? Luxfer MEL Technologies is a leading developer and producer of highly engineered magnesium and zirconium materials, with approximately 300 employees across the UK and US. Buyer - The Role Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will work as part of the Procurement Team within Luxfer MEL Technologies. The main purpose of the role is to ensure achievement of company strategy and goals, financial and otherwise using best practice techniques. You will also be required to purchase goods, materials, and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply. Buyer - What's on offer? Salary in the region of £30,000 to £36,000 level dependent on experience Annual bonus entitlement Permanent contract, working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday from our Swinton site (Greater Manchester) Personal development opportunities with paid allowances based on responsibilities e. g. Undertake a proactive approach to Procurement and drive improvement within their sourcing activities and processes. Review existing categories of spend, identify and prioritise product groups areas for tender / renegotiation. Negotiate contracts, improve terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to deliver cost savings to the business. Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets using SAP system. Act as an interface between suppliers.
