Opportunity: Economist Salary: GBP600 : GBP 700 per day (inside IR35) Location: Remote Contract Duration: until 31/03/24 We are currently looking for an Economist for our government client. This Economist role is remote with potential for very occasional travel to any UK office as needed. Main office locations are; Birmingham, Bristol, London, Newcastle, Reading and York. The contract for the Economist position is initially until 31/3/24 with potential to extend, offering a daily rate within the range of GBP 600 to GBP 700, operating inside IR35. This role is inside IR35 : Due to the service of the role, it will now be based on an Umbrella solution. Role Profile/Responsibilities: Previous government experience Must be familiar with the treasury business case requirements as per the green book Strong economist background You will have at least an upper second: class honours degree with at least 50 of the modules in economics You will have significant experience of economic support to government, including producing the economic case for a government business case for multiple projects. Having worked on economic cases in relation to government IT projects specifically would be desirable. You will have demonstrable practitioner level familiarity with the Green Book and with the Treasurys five case model You will have evidence of planning and prioritising effectively to meet deadlines, able to manage multiple projects/issues to deliver results at pace Able to show creative problem: solving skills and able to propose new solutions or different ways to approach challenges Ability to quickly respond to changing demands and priorities, with the confidence to take quick decisions often without comprising the quality of work The ability to work effectively as part of a team : ideally you will be familiar with working on major projects on multi: disciplinary teams Liaising closely with the Project Manager and the wider multi: disciplinary team.
