Are you an active high school or college undergrad student interested in a paid internship in Park Maintenance? Apply online today.PAY RATE: $15.00 PER HOUR (HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL); $17.00 PER HOUR (COLLEGE UNDERGRAD LEVEL) Please note, this internship is funded through June 2023 due to a grant from the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority. It is open to applicants who are current/active High School or Undergrad College Students. Maximum of 15 hours per week for High School level; 20 hours per week for College undergrad level. Cleaning and maintenance of park grounds and facilities. Mowing with push mower or riding mower. Trimming with power weed trimmers or manually. Emptying garbage barrels and picking up litter. Cleaning and maintaining public restrooms. Flower beds - planting, weeding, watering. Athletic field maintenance and preparation for games. Picnic shelter preparations and clean up after rentals. Set up and tear down for special events. General maintenance and care of assigned equipment. Report any vandalism, unusual condition, emergency situation, or incident to the Park Manager. Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed. Support all aspects of the Park District Safety Program. Perform other duties as assigned. We are one park district, one community.
