SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS: As a leader in networking and specialty electronics in North and South America, Sagent is looking for a motivated, self-starting Supply Chain Management Intern as part of the Class of Summer 2023. As an intern, you can expect to demonstrate your skills, for collaboration and creative problem-solving daily. You will actively contribute to meaningful real-world projects which will be implemented during your internship. In addition to tackling practical business, supply chain, and technical problems, you will have access to a variety of mentors and senior leaders within the team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Distribution Center, Lab/Repair Facility, and the Delivery teams in maintaining/optimizing supply chain management processes, systems, and software. Optimize/Validate/Document Master Production Scheduling (MPS), Material Requirement Planning (MRP), and key Inventory Processes Refine/Codify logistics processes including transfer in and out of lab/repair, RMA handling, Scrap and inventory management, and international trade compliance. Develop/Monitor shipping/receiving/warehousing streamlining projects. Conduct space utilization/optimization studies. Integration of data-driven, logistics-focused IT tools into everyday operations Other duties as assigned by appropriate Sagent leadership. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Must be pursuing a degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Industrial Distribution, Business Analytics Minimum GPA of a 3.0 Familiar with logistics decision-making tools and skills as they apply to inventory, transportation, and warehouse management. General knowledge of analysis of the characteristics of logistics system elements and their interrelationships within a company Understanding of original planning through delivery of finished products, purchasing, inventory control, receiving, storage, production control, traffic, and materials handling Strong verbal and written communication Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work well in teams. Strong work ethic and attention to detail Energetic, self-motivated interpersonal skills and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels. PHYSICAL DEMANDS | WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Environment: Fully on-site role in a standard warehouse/distribution center (DC) setting with exposure to computer screens. Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability to work in a warehouse/DC setting; stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; operate office/DC equipment including extensive use of a computer keyboard. Must also be able to lift moderately heavy objects (e.g., 20-50+lbs). Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents. Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
