SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS: As a leader in networking and specialty electronics in North and South America, Sagent is looking for a motivated, self-starting Accounting and Finance Intern as part of the Class of Summer 2023. As an intern, you can expect to demonstrate your skills, for collaboration and creative problem-solving daily. You will actively contribute to meaningful real-world projects which will be implemented during your internship. In addition to tackling practical business models, costing/pricing, and financial digitalization challenges, you will have access to a variety of mentors and senior leaders within the team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Accounting and Finance team in maintaining/optimizing/documenting financial management processes, systems, and software impacting US and international business. Develop and document internal costing rates for labor/products; evaluate current company deals and develop forecasts against new models. Refine/Codify/Participate in finance processes and develop/evaluate adoptable workflows. Assist in the development/overhaul of annual budget/forecast templates. Integrate improved/automated reporting tools and business analytics to make a measurable difference in reporting timelines. Other duties as assigned by appropriate Sagent leadership. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Must be pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics Minimum GPA of a 3.0 Familiar with commercial accounting packages and database management software. Exposure to large databases, data exploration, modeling, and model evaluation. General knowledge of Accounting in manufacturing operations; cost concepts/classifications; cost accounting cycle; accounting for materials, labor, and burden; process cost accounting; budgeting; standard costs; cost reports; direct costing and differential cost analysis Highly competent in Microsoft Excel with an understanding of technology/accounting information systems and their interface with business processes, internal controls, and database management systems Strong verbal and written communication Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work well in teams. Strong work ethic and attention to detail Energetic, self-motivated interpersonal skills and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels.
