The Campbell House Lexington - Curio Collection by Hilton is a gem located in the rolling hills of Kentucky. Our recent renovation has enhanced the classic elegance and southern charm while maintaining the rich history of the boutique hotel. We are seeking a Bellman to join our all star team. If you are a team player, motivator, and enjoy providing service excellence in your role, this may be the team for you. POSITION PURPOSE First impressions are everything! The Bellman is responsible for providing a delightful experience for arrivals/departures and any guest assistance. You will assist arriving and departing guests with baggage handling, greeting and escorting guests to and from their hotel rooms, promoting the hotel outlets, delivering guest packages and requests, as well as informing guests of area attractions and hotel amenities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Greet and escort guests to and from their hotel rooms Promote hotel features, such as restaurants, meeting space, etc. Work is performed indoors and outdoors Transport luggage to/from vehicles and guest rooms Requires the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and to push and pull carts weighing up to 250 lbs Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards, namely in public areas to include the lobby, bell carts, and glass on doors/windows Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills and keeping the public areas free of trash and debris Execute special guest requests as needed SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process. Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must possess basic computational ability. Must possess basic computer skills. Physical Demands Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to work in a busy environment. Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift 75 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees. Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception. Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment. Position will wear a radio and earpiece for the duration of the scheduled shifts. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS Education High school or equivalent education required. Experience One year customer service or guest related experience required. Hotel service experience preferred.
