Hanover Iron Works, a rapidly growing miscellaneous metals fabrication and installation company is seeking experienced Field Crew Foreman in the Richmond, VA area. We offer an excellent benefits package including: Health/dental/vision/disability insurance Paid time off Paid holidays 401k with employer match and 100% vesting from the beginning Paid weekly Company Paid Life Insurance The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Provide skills vital for the installation of stairs, rails and misc. metals Coordinate daily activities with General Contractor Read and layout in accordance with blueprints Instruct and organize crew's, tools, materials and installation of stairs, rails, and miscellaneous metals Ensure crew members have proper certifications, are qualified to operate equipment and/or tools and follow job-site safety regulations File incident reports as necessary to report any observed safety violations or situations that may affect the safety of any crew member or other tradesmen Attend job-site meetings (Foremen's, Safety and/or Production meetings) complete daily field reports and vehicle inspection reports Schedule regular maintenance of equipment Monitor the maintenance of service truck, welders, tools and equipment and inform Field Operations manner of any issues Responsible for the timely completion of Daily Field Reports, Safety Reports, Time and Material tickets and any other documents required by the General Contractor Serve as Company's Safety representative on-site (require that all personnel wear proper P.P.E. and follow Site Specific Safety Plans laid out for job) Responsible for reviewing Tool-Box Shop Talks, job-site safety and general safety regulations Inform Project Manager and Field Superintendent of potential delays that would impact schedules Successful candidates will have : High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Experience in the misc. metals field for a minimum 8+ years (preferred) Supervisory experience (preferred) Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, Tool-Box Shop Talks and safety procedures, Operator's Manuals and maintenance instructions Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to speak effectively to contractors, clients, customers, general public and employees of the organization ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Understanding of angle's and degree's Thorough knowledge of stairs, rails and miscellaneous metals Working Knowledge of AWS D1.1a nd the following processes, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW Current welder certifications or ability to pass weld test considerable knowledge of utilized tools and equipment Excellent time-management skills with the ability to meet fast paced project demands Be team oriented Have a positive attitude with dependable self-driven work ethic To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Monitoring Verifying whether one's own or someone else's actions or products are satisfactory Adaptability Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events Dependability Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan Planning/Organizing Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources Verbal Communication Understanding others and being understood in verbal communication WORK ENVIRONMENT: Subject to outside environmental conditions (weather, heat, cold, etc.) Exposure to loud noises, hearing protection is required Exposure to moving mechanical parts and moving equipment Exposure to dust and foreign particles, welding fumes, etc. Exposed to electrical shock risk PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Lift at least 100 lbs. Climb, stoop, kneel, crouch Repeating motions that may include wrists, hands and/or fingers Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl Close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus This is an hourly position with some overnight travel.
