Sun East is offering a SIGN ON BONUS of $1,000 for new hires!* Sun East Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to join our Lending Department. The Mortgage Loan Originator is responsible for generating new mortgage loans by assisting members with their mortgage lending needs. In this role the Mortgage Loan Originator will respond to member inquiries. In addition, the role will utilize data sources and other available resources to make outbound phone calls to capture member mortgages currently with other institutions. This role will analyze loan requests and communicate credit decisions based on mortgage lending policy. Puts the member and fellow employees first every day exemplifying Sun East's Mission and Values in all that you do. This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. 1 to 3 years of similar or related experience, with a proven track record of loan origination in a sales/commissioned environment. Also, requires familiarity with FHA lending requirements as well as with automated underwriting systems and loan origination systems. Proven ability to sell while building lasting relationships. Good public relations skills; basic typing and math skills; good reasoning and problem solving skills; self-starter; ability to communicate effectively; PC familiarity with report writing skills. Responsibilities Utilizes data sources and other available resources to generate new loans. Meets or exceeds minimum established individual loan volume and sales goals each month. Maintains a fallout rate as determined by credit union management Develops and maintains knowledge of all mortgage products and rates within the credit union and from the mortgage industry. Responds to member inquiries concerning real estate loans. Completes regular outbound calls to generate new business. Reviews and evaluates information on mortgage loan documents to determine if buyer, property, and loan conditions meet Credit Union and regulatory standards. Communicates preliminary loan decision to all involved parties within 24 hours of receipt of mortgage application. Communicates final loan approval or rejection to member. Structures loan applications for most favorable loan decision. Promotes the Credit Union's mortgage lending program externally. Continually identify; develop and maintain a quality network of business relationships that serve as a recurring source of referrals. Become a member of a network real estate professionals, builders, etc. Explains the Credit Union's electronic services such as SUNNY, Online Banking, Bill Pay services and Mobile Banking. Answers members' questions and solves members' problems involving loan accounts and products. The Mortgage Loan Originator position earns a competitive wage, depending on experience.
