Finish/DeBur Technician

Job Summary: Hand finish and debur a wide variety of precision metal parts and castings for the aviation fuel system industry in compliance with established specifications and procedures. The debur/finish technician will shape and smooth metal surfaces of various machined parts using appropriate tools, clean-up of all grinding and filing, and perform all related burr removal for precision machined components. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned) Use a variety of hand tools and microscope to clean, shape, smooth and remove excess material (debur) from precision machined components. Work will be somewhat repetitive by nature using small hand tools. Check/inspect parts to ensure all operations have been completed properly and in compliance with established specifications and procedures. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Minimum Qualification Standards: High school diploma or GED. At least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Must be detailed oriented, mechanically adept and have good fine motor skills. Possess knowledge of basic hand tool mechanics. Regular, physical on-site attendance is required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work independently and follow procedural processes. Must be able to maintain an organized and clean work station. Adaptability adapts to changes in the work environment; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. Initiative Volunteers readily, asks for and offers help when needed. Innovation generates suggestions for improving work. Safety and Security observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly. Equipment, Machines and Software Used: This position requires the regular use of basic deburr and hand finishing tools.
