Role and Responsibilities Role and Responsibilities Our small, family-owned company operates a power sweeper fleet of five vehicles to provide scheduled and on- demand sweeping services to local commercial properties, municipalities and construction sites. We are seeking an experienced part-time vehicle mechanic to maintain our fleet and shop. This position will be responsible for the technical maintenance of all vehicles and on-board vacuum power sweep systems. This requires the ability to assess and repair standard automotive, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. The mechanic will also be responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicles and shop areas as well as small engine maintenance and repair. Requirements and hours will vary based on requirements. Most work will be done in the mornings, after the vehicles return from overnight shifts. Hours are flexible but will usually range from 10:00am to 2:00pm weekdays, but may vary to meet requirements. Qualifications and Education Requirements Must have a valid driver's license with no serious traffic infractions on record. Skills with power equipment and machinery. Must be able to work flexible hours to include some weekends. Must be able to pass drug screening, if required Must be able to lift and carry 50-60 lbs. frequently. Must be able to walk for extended periods while carrying heavy items. Must be able to safely drive large vehicles. Must have reliable transportation to and from work and a smart phone. Duties Assess and diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems on vehicles. Install parts and make repairs on vehicles and power equipment. Drive vehicles to and from the shop to our support maintenance partner facilities. Maintain neat and orderly workspace and shop facilities. Be available for on-call work requirements daily.
