Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative is looking for a talented individual to join us as a Payroll Specialist. This is a hybrid position within our Human Resources department. How You'll Make a Difference The Payroll Specialist's primary responsibility is to ensure that Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative (CGHC) employees are paid accurately and on time. This position serves as the expert in payroll preparation and processing, reporting and reconciliation as well as maintaining payroll data in the HRIS System. The position is responsible for identifying process improvements related to payroll and creating/maintaining documentation and training for internal and external users. Utilize Your Skills By: Serves as the expert in employee attendance procedures; verifies timekeeping records, maintains time and attendance records using HRIS software, Paylocity Understands CGHC policies and the impact on employee records and payroll processing Processes payroll including wage and overtime payments, calculations and recording of payroll deductions, leave requests, and all other possible adjustments Manage tax and withholding records and deductions for all federal, state, local or other taxes that affect payroll amounts Follow and calculate all outside wage garnishment requests or judgments when required Reviews payroll before finalizing to ensure accuracy Set up each individual new hire with all the necessary forms, including direct deposit requests, wage verification, I-9 information and W-4 reports Complete calculations for final pay when employees leave employment Manages the distribution of funds to employee accounts (ie, FSA/HSA/Dependent Care, Retirement Plan, etc.) Verifies and reconciles W2s prior to issuance Works with Paylocity to set up state tax IDs, ensures proper set up and accurate state tax filings Answer questions regarding paychecks, withholding tax issues or wage adjustments from employees and help troubleshoot possible issues Identify process improvements and establish new processes Maintain Payroll Manual and other Desk Level References to ensure all process documentation is up-to-date Prepares communication, training, and documentation on use of time keeping in Paylocity and other payroll related updates affecting employees and leaders What You'll Need to Bring: Required High school Diploma or GED Certification, associate or bachelor's degree in human resources, finance or accounting is preferred but not required 5+ years of experience in processing payroll including commissions, garnishments, and benefit distribution Experienced user of Paylocity HRIS system Experienced user of MS Office toolset with advance knowledge of MS Excel (proven ability to complete formulas, Vlookup, and other calculations) Excellent attention to detail Ability to work with a team Proven ability to prioritize and multitask Problem solving and analysis skills Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels and all departments Maintains a high degree of confidentiality with all stakeholders We've Got You Covered CGHC offers competitive pay and broad range of programs to meet the needs of our employees to help protect your health, wealth, and future.
