Seeking a COTA We are seeking a licensed Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team for a part-time position to join our team in Palmdale! You will provide direct patient care and support rehabilitation activities. Implement Occupational Therapy services for patients/clients under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist. These services include assessments, treatment and documentation. Status: Full-Time Location: Palmdale, CA. RESPONSIBILITIES: He/she must have the ability to perform the following job responsibilities: Responds to requests for service by relaying information and referral to an Occupational Therapy Registered. Determines patient's/client's need for services in collaboration with an Occupational Therapy Registered. Contributes to the assessment process under supervision of an Occupational Therapy Registered. Assists Occupational Therapy Registered in developing treatment plans and techniques to implement plans. Monitors patient's/client's response to treatment and modifies treatment during sessions as indicated in collaboration with an Occupational Therapy Registered. Reports observations of patient's/client's performance and responses to services to the Occupational Therapy Registered. Recommends termination of patient/client services to the Occupational Therapy Registered. Documents and maintains service-related records, as directed by supervising Occupational Therapy Registered. Moves and lifts patients and/or equipment safely for treatment. Follows established procedures and observe safety precautions in application and use of equipment and modalities with patients. Adheres to all department policies and procedures. Maintains patient confidentiality. Follows billing and reimbursement procedures. Shows proficiency in the knowledge and performance of intervention in the developmental needs of the patient over the life span specific to the setting. Is knowledgeable regarding the five age categories, i.e., infant, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric and is knowledgeable in treatment administration according to the evaluation and MD orders for all age groups. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in providing in-service education. Identifies own continuing education needs in consulting with Occupational Therapy Registered. Completes any other paperwork or assignments as designated by the immediate Supervisor. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant curriculum and satisfaction or current California Occupational Therapy Board legal requirements. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of the principles, practices, standards and techniques of how to use and maintain Occupational Therapy equipment. Knowledge of safety and body mechanics to avoid injury to self or patients. Skill in writing reports, preparing correspondence, and keeping patient care records. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. Skill in identifying and recommending problem resolution. Ability to evaluate utilization statistics and other data. Ability to communicate clearly. Skills to perform functions within established productivity standards. Must have a current BLS/CPR Card.
