Daybreak is looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to assist in our mission of providing Miami Valley homeless and vulnerable youth with services that promote safety, stability, and well-being. This position will play a key role in realizing our vision of a promising future for all youth. Title of position: Chief Financial Officer Position Type: Full Time Pay range: Market Location: 605 South Patterson Blvd. Dayton, OH 45402 Position Responsibilities: This position will direct the organization's financial planning and accounting practices to ensure full financial accountability to the Daybreak Board of Trustees and ensuring the agency is in compliance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards, IRS, and other regulatory tax and government grant reporting requirements. The CFO will be responsible for designing, developing, and administering agency accounting procedures and practices. The CFO will prepare Daybreak's annual budget and quarterly fiscal reports for the Board of Trustees and Financial Audit Committee. They will monitor financial performance and results to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines. This is position will be responsible for Daybreak's overall risk management policies and plans as well as oversees monthly grant billings and summary budget preparation to monitor grant performance. The CFO serves as the Corporate Compliance Officer and serves on the Daybreak Executive Management Team, Strategic Planning Team, and Financial Audit Committee. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (required) in Accounting or Finance. Ten (10) years of experience in Accounting and/or Finance, managing multiple funding sources and three (3) years supervisory experience required. Nonprofit accounting and government grant experience preferred. Experience with Ohio Medicaid and Managed Care payer plans preferred. Required skills: The ability to work with mathematical concepts such as statistical interference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and practical solutions. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in Mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. About Us: Daybreak was established in 1975 in Dayton, Ohio as an emergency shelter for runaway and homeless youth. Today, Daybreak operates the Miami Valley's only 24-hour crisis hotline and emergency youth shelter and has grown to include outreach, prevention, transitional housing, life-skills education, and other follow-up services for runaway, throwaway, and homeless youth.
