Position Overview: Provides indirect patient care in the Emergency Department. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff. Implements directions from physicians and nursing staff. Essential Functions : a) The Unit Clerk is responsible for the coordination of the Emergency Department desk. This includes communication with co-workers, physicians and ancillary departments. b) Organizes orders. c) Maintains the Patient Log, transfer log, trauma activation log. Physical Demands and Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands along with fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Qualifications & Skills: a) Education: High School graduate or equivalent with one (1) year experience in acute Hospital setting or in ambulance. b) Training & Experience: BCLS preferred. Current EMT Certification (preferable). Basic arrhythmia course (preferable). c) Job Knowledge: Medical terminology. Job Posted by ApplicantPro
