JOB SUMMARY This position performs labor intensive tasks while performing routine general and preventative maintenance to grounds, equipment, facilities and infrastructure on a daily basis. This position requires a good understanding of basic facility repairs, electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems. This position may complete tasks within close proximity to the general public and must be capable of providing a safe work zone. This position is expected to maintain the highest level of customer service while engaging with contractors, the general public and other city departments. This position reports to the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent with one (1) year of minimum experience. Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Texas Class C Driver's License. First Aid, CPR and AED certification or ability to obtain in six (6) months. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of principles and practices of parks and recreation facilities maintenance and repair or related services. Knowledge of principles and practices of safe work habits. Skill in operating a variety of tools, equipment, vehicles and trailers. Skill in analyzing problems and developing effective solutions. Ability to work independently or cohesively as part of a team. Ability to understand and follow the City of Conroe/Departmental policies and procedures.
