Sets up and operates numerical control machines or machining centers to perform various functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching on metallic and non-metallic work pieces, utilizing knowledge of machine tool capabilities, machinability of materials, and shop math. Monday through Thursday - Friday's off!!!ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Reviews mechanical drawings to determine procedures, sequences and dimensionsManipulates controls and enters commandsCalculates and sets machine controlsMonitors machine operationMachines parts to specificationVerifies conformance of parts to specificationPrecise measuring toolsKnowledge of metal propertiesKnowledge of layout, machining and assemblyJOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:High School1-5 years work experiencePHYSICAL DEMANDS:Work in standing position continuouslyStand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floorExert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionallyExert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequentlyExert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects ***Position located in Cookeville, TN*** VISUAL ACUITY: Near acuity with or without accommodationHEARING ABILITY: Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnoseWORKING CONDITIONS:High noise levels from operation machinesPhysical hazards from moving equipment and machine partsBreathing fumes, dust and mistSkin exposure to oil and fluidsMISCELLANEOUS JOB REQUIREMENTSCommunication skills in a team environmentOther job related instructions as requiredOther job related duties as requestedWorks as a member of a shop team Job Posted by ApplicantPro
