Description:
Position Summary: Assists the Field Staking Technician with converting hard copy field staking projects into digital CAD/GIS format. Conducts map and staking sheet clips as needed for FTTx projects. Inputs TXDOT permits via TXDOT UIR with information gathered by the Field Staking Tech. Essential Job Functions: Clips maps for Field Staking Tech for proposed staking projects Converts as-staked map clips to digital CAD format Generates construction staking sheets Inputs as-built red lines into overall CAD maps Updates Texas811 shapefile maps Sends and maintains TXDOT permits Generates PON splicing details Converts maps to DWF as needed May assist other departments with clerical functions as needed Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.* Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of company policies and procedures. Knowledge of company products and services. Knowledge of telecommunications plant operations and terminology. Knowledge of written communication practices, procedures and formats. Knowledge of digital mapping system. Skill in operating various office equipment such as personal computer, various software programs and telephone systems. Skill in oral and written communication. Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments. Ability to pay close attention to detail. Ability to effectively function as a team player. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent plus two (2) years of related experience.
