National Ocean Sales Manager As a National Ocean Sales Manager, you’ll use your talents to create innovative solutions and shape the future across our business. Job Purpose: • To support and drive growth, the National Ocean Sales Manager will manage and drive performance of those Regional Business Development Managers (RBDMs) that have a specialism or Major in ocean freight, both FCL and LCL. • They will also be responsible for functional management and support towards any ocean freight HVT opportunity being worked on within the Sales team. So for example, if an RBDM (Air), Sector BDM or IBDM needs support progressing or converting an Ocean HVT in the Business Customers (BC) channel then the National Ocean Sales Manager would provide this support. • The role holder has a responsibility to be aware of the overall BC pipeline for Ocean FCL and LCL, ensuring that is it sufficient and of enough quality to deliver the required growth both Nationally and at Station level. • Therefore it is also important that the role holder fosters a close and deep understanding of the Station budgets and capabilities. • Working closely with the Product team is a must in order to foster the strongest levels of collaboration. • The role holder will play an intrinsic role during Station Business Reviews (SBRs) joining them where appropriate to discuss the local Ocean sales plans, pipeline and sales performance. • It is important that role holder helps to leverage the Field Sales Specialisation programme, to ensure that the company sees the benefit and ROI of this unique approach. • A close understanding of the Ocean Product niche’s such as OMS, Reefer, Bulk and Chemicals, and others, will be necessary to make a success of the role. • Working in a highly competitive industry, in which margins are being squeezed and services commoditised, it can.
