Position Title: Senior Software System Test Engineer Functional Department: Engineering Location: San Jose, CA Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Sciences Experience: 5 plus years of experience in test software development. This role will be responsible for developing Software to test and verify hardware devices. Requires EE skills including Schematics, BOMs, PCB layout supervision, and Assembly documentation. Work with Optical Engineering, Software, Mechanical Engineering, and Operations to ensure that the products being developed meet the project scope and goals. -The position will entail developing SW for testers and the work instructions, the test procedures, and any required fixtures, tools, or jigs to support new product introductions. -Will also work with Operations and Field Support to troubleshoot/debug manufacturing problems and RMAs then take corrective action, as needed. Including updating configurations and software versions. Weekly review meetings to communicate task goals and status. Responsibilities Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications Review schematics designs for software architecture e.g. understanding of communication protocols for products under test as well as control of instruments to collect data. Select the best software platform for a given design e.g. C# or C++ or Python. Validation process software (DVT) on all PCBs and assemblies in a stressed environment: temperature, humidity, vibration, EMI and ESD Work with NPI to ensure timely delivery of software for EE components and testers (Board & ICT) into new product launches. Assist the system group in the certification processes including FCC, TUV, ESD, UL, and CE Early collaboration with system design and stakeholders. Communicate effectively on the status of open projects using strong written and verbal communication skills. Perform other duties as assigned.Job Requirements Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Sciences. 5 plus years of experience in test software development. Well-experienced in Object Oriented programming. Strong skills in C# (or C++) and Python. Knowledgeable in GIT and working with repositories. Front-end graphical user interface design. Windows and Linux Databases Software testing and quality assurance Microsoft Visual Studio Problem-solving skills Implement localization or globalization of software Excellent verbal & written communication skills with the ability to develop & and present information to individuals & and groups. Take initiative and work in a self-directed environment with remote team members & and leaders High level of independent judgment Demonstrated ability to work on complex issues. The employee must at times lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
