Fire Training Certificate Lead Instructor and Program Coordinator Part-time regular position, average 50%, Creston BC Duties : Responsibilities for this combined instructor and program coordinator position involve preparing, delivering, and arranging courses in the Fire Training Certificate program. The program trains candidates who wish to pursue employment as firefighters or other emergency services personnel and is operated in partnership with Creston Fire Rescue. As lead instructor in this program, you will be required to develop and revise program curriculum and learning materials and instruct the program in a way that meets the needs of your students, ensuring that your classroom and lab instruction is relevant and current. As program coordinator you will participate in the program's admissions process, coordinate and orient the program's contract instructors, manage equipment and supplies, update program outlines and participate in College program quality assurance processes. The schedule will vary based on student and instructional needs. Qualifications : Required: Proboard Certification for NFPA 1001 Fire Fighting Practices Level 1 and 2 NFPA 1041 Fire Service Instructor at a minimum of Level 1 A minimum of five years of Fire Services or other comparable Emergency Services experience as a Training Officer or Coordinator Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication and supervisory skills Strong computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc. ) Assets: NFPA 1041 Live Fire Instructor NFPA 1041 Fire Service Instructor Level 2 NFPA 1072 Levels Hazardous Materials Awareness/Operations.
