Date Posted: 01/31/2024 Closing Date: 04/01/2024, 11:59PM ET Req ID: 34073 Job Category: Faculty - Teaching Stream (continuing) Faculty/Division: Temerty Faculty of Medicine Department: Dept of Speech-Language Pathology Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto) Description: The Department of Speech-Language Pathology, in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, invites applications for a full-time continuing teaching stream appointment in the area of clinical education. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream and will commence on July 1, 2024, or shortly thereafter. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the clinical education of Year 1 students in the MHSc curriculum by teaching the introductory clinical principles academic course and coordinating and teaching two clinical placement courses. Additional administrative duties, including committee memberships, may be assigned by the Chair of the Department. We seek candidates whose teaching interests complement and enhance our existing departmental strengths. Candidates must have at least a Professional Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited Canadian program. Candidates must have teaching experience in a degree-granting program, including lecture preparation and delivery, curriculum development, and development of online material/lectures. Additionally, candidates must possess a demonstrated commitment to excellent pedagogical inquiry and a demonstrated interest in teaching-related scholarly activities. Candidates must have knowledge of and extensive experience in paediatric backssment and intervention (i. e. children birth-18 years), a minimum of five years experience in co-ordinating clinical placements for speech-language pathology (SLP) students, demonstrated evidence of excellence as a clinical educator for students in clinical placements, knowledge of the service delivery organization in Ontario,.
